Middle school health is a planned, sequential curriculum that promotes a desire for students to make positive choices that promote lifetime wellness. Curriculum goals are met by incorporating a variety of classroom activities and integrating technology into many of the lessons. The textbook used in all three grade levels, Holt Decisions for Health , is aligned with PA Core Standards. Students receive 30 days of health instruction per year in 6th and 7th grade. Topics of discussion include: wellness and nutrition, tobacco, drugs and alcohol, cancer and heart disease, decision-making/goal-setting skills, and human reproduction.
