Physical Education

 
The middle school physical education classes offer a sequential curriculum that is aligned with the PA Core Standards for physical education. Activities are designed to promote a desire for students to make fitness and wellness a daily part of life. Students participate in 30 days of physical education per year in 6th and 7th grade. The 8th grade Fitness & Wellness elective is 90 days. Activities include a variety of team sports such as softball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, wrestling, team handball, speedball, flag football, field hockey, and floor hockey as well as other activities including dance, aerobics, racquet sports, fitness tests, and track and field. The 8th grade Fitness & Wellness course also incorporates activities such as strength training, cardio workouts, heart rate monitors, and health concepts.
